This is a glimpse into my world. Here are some of the images I have taken during my travels and adventures. It is also where my more experimental side of photography comes into play. I enjoy trying different techniques, while keeping this idea of different worlds in the back of my mind.
Exploration
When I need a change of pace from live music and events, I will find somewhere I can go off and explore away from people. During these explorations I’m on the lookout for interesting compositions and unusual subjects. Below are a selection of images from exploring locations local to me in Birmingham, across the UK, and beyond.
Wildlife
Whenever I’m out exploring, I always have my camera setup and ready for any wildlife opportunities. With landscapes you can take your time and get your settings right, but for wildlife an opportunity might only present itself for a moment, so I like to have everything setup and ready. Keeping an eye out for wildlife also helps me stay present and focussed while exploring a location.
Whitby Goth Weekend 2023
In October 2023 I travelled to Whitby for the Goth Weekend event. Below are a selection of images from Whitby and the surrounding areas, including a few rare photos of me! The weekend was filled with gothic and other Victorian themes. When it came to editing the images, I saw these themes had already made their way into the compositions, so I leaned into it and explored editing and colour grading the images to enhance their gothic and Victorian atmosphere. We were also very lucky that our hotel happened to be next to a train station that still ran regular steam trains!
